All good things must come to an end and after nearly two years of bringing you new African stories…
OK, don’t worry, we’re not closing down. This was just our cheeky way of making sure you clicked the link so we could take this opportunity to apologise.
Since launching this platform at the end of 2015, we committed to bringing you new, fresh and original African stories on a regular basis. The plan was to start with two stories a week and progress from there. This was the plan. It was a pretty good plan, and it worked well for a while (some weeks we posted three stories, one week we even posted five) but our dedicated readers would have noticed that for the last couple of months our consistency has declined and, though we still post stories from incredibly talented writers, we don’t do this at the same rate as we used to. For this, we sincerely apologise.
As many of you know, AFREADA is a labour of love and is currently managed on an entirely voluntary basis. Due to limited resources and time constraints, we’re making a few changes to our commitments. For now, we won’t be able to increase the volume of posts per week, but…
We promise that you can expect a new #AFREADs book feature every Monday, and a brilliant new story every Friday.
We’ll still be active on social media, and we are still accepting submissions, so feel free to email email@example.com, following the instructions on our submissions page. If you have submitted a story, you can expect to hear from us on or before Sunday, 1st October.
Now, here’s the better news. We can absolutely assure you that this season of minimal activity is temporary. We have a number of exciting initiatives and projects planned for the years ahead, and we are working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure we end the year with a BANG! (Details of this BANG will be announced shortly… writers, get ready)
Lastly, we want to thank you all for your continued support. Thank you to our valued contributors and thank you to our devoted readers. AFREADA doesn’t exist without you and we genuinely cannot wait to bring you more engaging content from a diverse pool of exceptional writers…
…starting from today (because it’s Friday!)
Enjoy this short and unpredictable 6-minute story , and have a great weekend ahead.
