Long time, no story!
No email notifications, no AFREADA links on Twitter, no Insta updates, no nothing. Content wise, it’s been a quiet couple of weeks but we can assure you that it has all been intentional.
As we approach our fourth year, and look to 2020, we’ve decided to take a short break so we can strategically rip off the training wheels and forge ahead with some of our more ambitious plans for the future. We want to capture all the best that African storytelling has to offer, and that requires us to throw caution to the wind and take things a few steps further.
We’re calling this revamp “AFREADA 2.0″ – not the most creative title, but it’s catchy so we love it.
Now, we can’t reveal too much (because we haven’t quite figured it all out yet and it would be incredibly awkward if we told you about exciting projects that’ll never happen) but what we do know is:
We are not accepting any new stories, and we will reopen for new submissions in December 2019.
We will resume publishing new stories from January 2020.
We want YOU to be a part of shaping what comes next…
Readers are the heart of what we do, so we would really appreciate if you could take 5 mins (honestly, just 300 seconds) to answer a few questions that will help us tailor and shape our ideas going forward.
You should know by now that we love to give out prizes, so we’ll be picking FIVE random survey participants to choose a book of their choice from our Instagram Page, and we’ll ship a copy out to you wherever you are in the world.
How does that sound? Good? Great!
Now, let’s get started…
